My 2014 Bucket List♥

It's 20:15 on a Saturday night and instead of hanging out with friends or being in a social situation like the rest of the teenage population, I am sat on my bed, wrapped up warm, eating chocolate whilst typing away into my laptop. I was supposed to start this blogging-thing on the first of January 2014 but that obviously didn't happen. I can say in all honesty, from the bottom of my heart, 2013 was a crap year. Actually, it was more than crap it was more like a wasted year. I had so many goals, so many aspirations but accomplished barely anything. It started off great and up until May, it was looking like it'd be brilliant. I'd accomplished a few goals, travelled out of the country, became a vegetarian. But that all changed and from then everything just plummeted in a downhill spiral. II spent the rest of the year losing close friends, fighting battles within myself and generally just wasting time. This year I want it to be different. I want to achieve the majority of my goals and I want to look back on 2014 like 'yeah man, what a wonderful year.' Well, at the very least not a repeat of 2013. Hence, the purpose of this blog. I shall be starting a '2014 Bucket List.'

The Bucket List will entail setting myself goals I want to achieve throughout the year, no matter how big and no matter how small, in order to give me a sense of accomplishment. A Bucket List which is personal to me and reflects what I want to do. I want to reflect back on the year, month, week even day and see it as being successfully utilised, something I can be proud of. I want to reflect back on my life and say I've done everything I wished to. No regrets. I want to say I lived a satisfying, fulfilled life and actually mean it. And so far, I don't feel like that is the case. I want to do and achieve so much in order to better myself and lead my life in the direction I want to be headed. The Bucket List I'm hoping will help me achieve this, mind you I've never done this sort of thing before and I'm aware it's not a miracle worker and its success is based entirely on my commitment to it. I'm hoping that by setting my aims out on a blog where I feel accountable to achieve them so I can post and update my progress will be the key to having a successful year. The aim is to look back at the end of the year on this list to see what I've accomplished and what there is still left to do. Here's to hoping for an amazing 2014.

My Bucket List:
  • Go to bed before 1 am every night and wake up before 11 am everyday
  • Complete work the day it is set instead of leaving it last minute and doing a half-hearted job of it
  • Smile at at least one strange everyday
  • Leave the house at least once 6 days a week
  • Get out of my comfort zone and talk to someone new once a week at the very least
  • Make plans with and see my friends more
  • Start revision for exams early
  • Learn to love yourself i.e. spend more time with yourself
  • Take up a new hobby e.g. learn to play an instrument
  • Rekindle old interests; photography, writing, blogging, reading, sports and drawing
  • Compliment someone every day based on their personality and character rather than looks
  • Take a picture everyday to represent the day
  • Volunteer for a cause you believe in
  • Get back into shape
  • Start YouTube?
  • Appreciate every single moment no matter how hard it is
  • See the positive side to a negative situation
  • Don't leave a room unless you've learnt something
  • Redecorate until you have your dream bedroom
  • Find more effective ways of expressing frustration than bottling it up and then letting all hell break loose unexpectedly
  • Open up more, bottling things up is no longer an option
  • Find a skincare routine that works for your skin
  • Regularly and consistently update the blog you've started
  • Finish what you start, no half-measures
  • Start doing more DIY
  • Pierce another part of your body
  • Grow you nails to the same length
  • Spend less time on YouTube and Twitter
  • Don't buy something for the sake of buying it
  • Dress the way that makes you happy. You can never be too overdressed.
  • Gain confidence; focus on what YOU love rather than other peoples lives
  • Dye hair a different and out-of-your-comfort-zone-colour
  • Be nicer to and appreciate my family more
  • Get back into video games and playing the DS
  • Eat chocolate in moderation
  • Become a vegetarian the healthy way
  • Keep a jar and fill it up with positive memories from each day
  • Get organised
  • Listen to a wider variety of music each week
  • Speak up more, don't let others define your self-worth
  • Only eat when your hungry, not when you're bored
  • Effectively save!
  • Say  'yes' to new opportunities more
  • Learn to get your anxiety, depression and eating under control
  • Don't doubt yourself and talk about yourself in a negative way
  • Make a new friend
If you've made it this far, then congratulations and thank you for taking the time to read. I'm sure I'll think of other things to add to it as the days go on. But for the time being, this is my 2014 Bucket List. So what I really want to know is do you (yes YOU reading this right now) have a bucket list and if so what's on it?

Lately I've been, I've been losing sleep, dreaming about the things that we could be
